Overview
Third Millennium Research, Inc. provides a variety research consulting services, which include: statistics and data mining, demographic and evaluation research, research methods, and data management. Regardless of whether your objective is to reduce health risks, gain competitive advantage with your business, improve educational performance, develop evidence-based policies, or strategically plan for future needs, we have the experience and skills to help you make data-driven decisions.
Statistics and Data Mining. We take a systematic, methodical approach to statistical and data mining analysis, and are prepared to assist with any size project, both large and small & short-term. Given limitations and assumptions, we apply appopriate techniques that yield meaningful, understandable, and applicable results. We have diverse programming capabilities and are well-versed with a wide variety of statistical and data mining techniques, and want you to understand why any given techniques are employed, and that the results enable you to make informed, evidence-based decisions. Demographic Research. Involving factors that affect population change (i.e., fertility, migration, and mortality), demographic techniques are an essential set of tools for effective strategic planning and decision-making. They can yield pertinent information about population growth rates & projections, as well as the geographic distribution, age and sex structure, and socioeconomic composition of populations. They can also help illuminate how aggregate demographic characteristics are associated with a variety of economic, health, or social characteristics (business environment, morbidity rates, housing, etc.) for given geographic areas. We can apply these techniques for a wide variety of clients, including corporate/business, NPOs, health-related organizations, education, and public sector agencies. Evaluation Research. Evaluations provide objective, systematic assessments of your programs, projects, interventions, randomized trials, quasi-experimental marketing campaigns, etc. The results often indicate how your program can be improved or refined, and are often very useful for program funding decisions because they enable informed decisions about the value of various programs, and thus the proper allocation of scarce resources. Evaluations most often involve outcome or impact assessments to assess effectiveness, but also can include needs, implementation, and cost-efficiency assessments. Research Design. Based on a variety of considerations (e.g., ethics, study objectives, and resource constraints), we can help determine which research designs (e.g., experimental, quasi-experimental, cross-sectional, time-series, etc.) are most appropriate for your projects. Our research design services also includes statistical power analysis, development of sampling design and procedures, survey and questionnaire design, measurement/scale and index construction, reliability and validity assessments, and factor analysis. Data Management. Our data management services include data preparation for data mining, the merging of data sets, and developing syntax/coding for index or scale construction, and codebook construction. We can also develop data management protocols, which play an important role for maintaining reliability and scientific integrity during data collection and coding, coding reliability assessments, as well as the entry, editing, and cleaning of data.
